Potter Heigham Shops
Despite its peaceful location, when staying at Sunray you are just a few minutes away from Potter Heigham shops. Potter Heigham is well served for local amenities – shops and places to eat. On the cottage side of the River Thurne there is a Premier convenience store that is open 7 days a week until late for groceries. On the other side of the river there is also a Costcutter at Bastwick and, a little further away at Martham, a Co-op. The nearest large supermarkets are the Tesco Superstores in Stalham or Caister (which also has a Lidl). Great Yarmouth has a choice of large supermarkets and you will find all the shopping opportunities you need in Norwich which is only a 30 minute drive away. Potter Heigham also is home to the famous Latham’s discount store. Local bakery chain, Flour & Bean, are right next door to Lathams.
Lathams
Potter Heigham Shops
Latham’s is a Potter Heigham instution and has become a tourist attraction in its own right. It was opened in the 1960’s by the Latham family and immediately built a reputation as an Aladin’s cave. The shop stocked everything that holidaymakers, fishermen and people passing through on the boats might need. Their reputation as a treasure trove continues today. The shop stocks everything you will need and lots of other things to tempt you. It’s hard to walk out empty handed! Lathams is on Bridge St and is open Monday to Saturday 9am-7pm and Sunday 10am-4pm. It is closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day and may have reduced opening hours on other holidays. Today there is a separate Latham’s Fishing Store which is open Mon to Sat: 9am-7pm, Sundays 9am-4pm and even Easter Sunday 9am-4pm.
